Improving student outcomes by building strong collaborative partnerships between parents and teachers

Our Mission

The Parent Teacher Collaborative is a school and community-based organization that aims to improve student outcomes by building strong collaborative partnerships between parents, educators, and community members.

Our Work

TPTC provides programming that breaks down the barriers that have often kept parents and teachers from becoming partners and working collaboratively towards student success. We aim to effect change by:

Teenagers

Creating Safe Spaces

Classmates in Library

Educating Stakeholders

Teacher Assisting a Student

Building Capacity to Act

Building the capacity of parents, educators, and community members to effectively organize and advocate for student needs

By the Numbers

Our Vision

The Parent Teacher Collaborative will be the model for effective parent, educator, and community engagement in schools- empowering families and educators to work together for student success.

Teacher, TPTC Acres Home Cohort

"I became more aware of the issues that are occurring within schools. Collaboration can dramatically make changes in a positive way, and there are still individuals willing to advocate in our community.”

Grandparent, TPTC Acres Home Cohort

“TPTC is not just a check the box, it's founded on a real need to make a change.”

Parent, TPTC Third Ward Cohort

"The Parent Teacher Collaborative and Dr. Jessica Carter has been instrumental in helping parents navigate through the new district changes affecting our schools and students.  I was certainly intimidated at the thought of speaking before the school board and Dr. Carter has been supportive along the way."
